Moving With Purpose: TMCA Students Go the Distance for Their School

TMCA students gather at Woodland Mound Park for the Move-a-thon fundraiser, ready to complete their miles with help from families, teachers, and volunteers.

Today, Taylor Mill Christian Academy students put their energy, determination, and school spirit into action during our Move-a-thon fundraiser at Woodland Mound Park.

Students reached out to church members, family, committee members, friends, and local businesses for sponsors, then committed to completing a number of miles based on their ability. Some students set a goal of 5 miles, while others took on as many as 20. Whether they were riding bikes, using scooters, or moving at their own pace, each student helped support TMCA in a meaningful and memorable way.

The route wound through Woodland Mound Park, where volunteers helped make the day safe, organized, and encouraging. Along the way, volunteers served as crossing guards, counted laps at the starting point, staffed refreshment stations, and kept encouragement flowing at waystations throughout the route. Repair and first-aid stations were also ready with Band-Aids, bike pumps, and the kind of calm adult help that makes school events possible.

A special thank-you goes to our students for their hard work and enthusiasm, our parents and families for supporting and encouraging them, our teachers for helping organize and guide the day, and our volunteers for giving their time, energy, and care. Events like this do not happen by accident. They happen because a school community shows up.
